ARSENAL VS EVETON  preview

Arsenal will head into their clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday in buoyant mood having won their last three Premier League games in a row.

The Gunners came back from a goal down to beat Stoke City at the weekend and are appearing to show no signs of faltering thanks to electric performances from Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in attack, while the solid defence inspired by the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech have also been encouraging for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Wenger struggled to explain the Toffees’ poor league form under Ronald Koeman this season when asked by reporters in his pre-match press conference, but will be confident of getting three points from the game if his team continue to produce the goods across the pitch.

The Frenchman’s side men were dealt a blow when it was announced that Shkodran Mustafi would be ruled out at least 21 days with a hamstring injury.

German defender Mustafi has been unbeaten in defence since joining the club and his absence in defence could cost the Gunners over a key Christmas period.

Aaron Ramsey will also be on the sidelines after suffering another hamstring injury.

Hector Bellerin is expected to reclaim his starting spot at right-back after an impressive cameo on his comeback against Stoke at the weekend.

The Spaniard notched an assist for Theo Walcott in Saturday’s game and is likely to be joined by Gabriel who will come in for the injured Mustafi in defence.

Granit Xhaka looks almost certain to continue alongside Francis Coquelin in midfield while Wenger has a decision on his hands over whether to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Alex Iwobi in attack.

Everton haven’t won a Premier League match since October and have looked poor under Koeman over the past few weeks.

Fact from opta

  • Olivier Giroud has scored five goals in his last six games against Everton in all competitions.
  • Everton’s only win in their last 18 league games against Arsenal was their 3-0 victory in April 2014 (D6 L11).
  • A win for the Gunners at Goodison Park would make it their 12th in the Premier League there – only at Villa Park (12) have they obtained as many away wins at a single ground.                                                Kick of at    7:45
